Voices of Migration project has in collaboration with Lærdansk Aarhus and Løves Bog og Vincafé developed the writing course Culture Writes. The course introduces Lærdansk students to writing as a way of expressing oneself and bring out personal experience. Participants will have a chance to influence the lives of others through offering a personal insight into their experiences and their world-view.
Culture Writes focuses on giving participants tools for expressing themselves through writing. The course has a wide-ranging group of participants that span a range of cultures and social backgrounds.
The use of and an openness to multiple languages other than Danish will foster unique modes of interpretation and multi-cultural expression. The individual texts result in a range of individual testimonies and cross-cultural experiences being presented and shared. They will be exhibitioned and shared at public events at Voices of Migration festival.
Participants will also be given an opportunity to work with two theatres in dramatising their texts and performing at the Voices of Migration festival.
